   British Designers

Needlework Emporium is pleased to present the cream of British tapestry designs:

  •  Ann Jarvis- Ann Jarvis has spent her working life as a textile designer. She was head of the design studio at Liberty of London prints and during this time she worked on classics from the Liberty archive, bringing them new life. She also designed and coloured prints for dress and furnishing ranges ahead of each new season. Her designs are exquisite.

  •  Beth Russell - Every home should have a Beth Russell William de Morgan or William Morris cushion.  They are beautifully printed and exciting to stitch. Many of the pieces can be made into cushions and chair seats. The designs are stitched in tent stitch (cross stitch for rugs) and use Appletons wools.

  •  Cleopatra's Needle - Lovely spectacle cases, pin cushions, sampler kits and herb pillows from another top designer.

  •  Elizabeth Bradley is a fine tapestry designer offering kits which include a colour printed canvas, a full-size colour chart and up to seven different background colours in Elizabeth Bradley wools.

  •  Glorafilia - Glorious designs stitched in glorious colours using Anchor Tapisserie wool.

  •  Isobel Hunt - Designs new to Needlework Emporium. When they were included in the range at the Sydney and Melbourne Needlework, Craft and Quilt Fairs recently, they were very popular. The velvet bag that is included with the kit is easily adapted to become the backing of the cushion.

  •  Jolly Red - Anybody who has seen the famous Jolly Red designs knows they are fun to stitch with bright colours and a range of designs to suit beginners and the more experienced stitcher. The new Autumn Leaves kit is really pretty.

  •  Millennia Designs - Beautiful tapestry designs inspired by designers such as William Morris and William de Morgan.  Debbie's favourite design is Parrots at a Fountain. Millennia Designs use a selection of tapestry wools including Anchor, Paterna and Appletons.

  •  One Off - Fun designs from Wendy Hope-Falkner. Each kit contains a printed canvas, Appleton's wools, stitch diagrams and friendly instructions.

  •  Primavera - Stunning designs that are stitched with Anchor Tapisserie wool.

  •  Susan Lethbridge - A pair of Susan Lethbridge cushions will be a fabulous addition to any room in the house. Another quality product.

  •  The Bold Sheep presents a range of designs that are fun to stitch. The kits come in stunning lilac bags and make fantastic presents.

  • The Historical Sampler Company - Tapestries and cross stitch designs from the Historical Sampler Company have been very popular with UK stitchers and offer a new look to the ever lasting sampler style.

  •  Twilleys - This very successful design house has been around for many years.

New Zealand Designers

Introducing Mary Self - an exciting New Zealand designer. The fresh thinking in Mary's designs are a talking point. Her quirky designs are printed on a coloured canvas and the tapestry wools are a mixture of beautiful New Zealand wool and mohair blend.

United States

Last year we added Maggie Co  hand painted tapestry canvases to our ever growing tapestry range. The designs represent different facets of our lives such as 'Happily Dying of Chocolate'.  This month, we report even better pricing - check them out. This year we have added some beautiful children's coat hangers designs from Designing Women.
